With October knocking down the door, there is absolutely no shortage of spooky content ready to give us chills, and this Lovecraftian anime is definitely part of that lineup. After years of being a fan favorite, Junji Ito's renowned 1998 horror manga has finally been adapted into an anime, all thanks to Warner Brothers and Adult Swim for taking the daring initiative. We have all been waiting a long time for this, especially since it is the first anime version of the manga, and although some have tried to portray the horrifying finesse of Uzumaki before, none have been able to do justice to Junji Ito’s storytelling of the spirals that cursed Kurouzu- cho. After watching the first episode, I can say that Uzumaki: Spiral into horror has been well worth the wait.
