DJ and producer Nathan Dawes reveals his fear of flying - Video

Nathan Dawe (Picture: Ryan Payne) Nathan Dawe puts the needle on the downside of being a globetrotting DJ… he has developed a fear of flying. In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, Nathan admitted: ‘This year flying has really scared me. I did 86 flights this summer. Most people do two a year… the odds are getting higher for me to be in a plane crash. ‘Sometimes I look out the window and think, “We shouldn’t be here, we should not be floating in the air”. I’m starting to get scared.’ The 28-year-old, who recently completed his second residency at Ibiza Rocks, also finds himself in a spot of bother after boarding so many flights. ‘I’ve got a full face of spots right now, it’s a nightmare!’ he exclaimed. Meanwhile, Nathan hopes to soar up the charts with new single Sweet Lies, featuring Talia Mar, which taps inspiration from Shanks & Bigfoot’s 1999 garage classic Sweet Like Chocolate. I’m very grateful that they gave us the green light,’ he gushed. And when was the last time Nathan, from Burton-on-Trent, told a white lie? ‘I got the opportunity to DJ at a local club, I’d just turned 16,’ he recalled. ‘A few weeks into the job, they were like, “Just checking, how old are you again?” I said, “I’ve just turned 18”. I was working there under-age for a couple of years.’ Nathan plays his biggest headline show to date at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on December 23 – fortunately, he won’t have to hop on a plane for it.
