After a Rohit Sharma masterclass sealed the series for India in Cuttack, we now head towards the biggest cricket stadium in the world – the Narendra Modi Stadium, with a seating capacity of over 1,30,000. While this game might be a dead rubber in terms of the series context, with India having taken an unassailable 2-0 lead with a game to spare, it will still be the last opportunity for both India and England to fine-tune their squads before the Champions Trophy kicks off. The third and final game of the series will be played in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (February 12).

The biggest question for India, despite being clinical so far in the series, is Jasprit Bumrah's fitness. The pacer was not part of the squad for the first two games, and there has been no official update on his condition so far. The conundrum for the Men in Blue is whether to risk him in this inconsequential game or save him for the Champions Trophy, hoping he gets fit before the business end of the tournament, while trusting the others to do the job during the league stages.

Bumrah has not played any cricket since the SCG Test in early January, where he did not bowl in the last innings due to a back issue. Since then, he has made two public appearances: first, at the venue where the third ODI is scheduled to be played – the Narendra Modi Stadium, where he attended a Coldplay concert and received a shoutout from the band's lead singer, Chris Martin. His second appearance was at the Naman Awards, a BCCI initiative to recognize top performers across age groups and genders.

There were reports that he would begin his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and would miss the third ODI in a bid to get ready for the Champions Trophy. However, there has been no official confirmation from the BCCI on this.
