I patterned and cut this Xena sword out of EVA foam- a common cosplay material. Once it was primed, it was time to paint! I originally livestreamed the whole thing on Twitch, but this is a supercut time lapse of the process.
Before the video starts, I cut and sanded the sword, heat sealed it with my heat gun, then primed it with 3 layers of matte spray Mod Podge. Then I added 2 undercoats of glossy black spray paint to make the metallic paints really shine.
About me:
Hi! I'm Alex, and I'm a cosplayer and engineer based in southern California. I'm pretty sure I was put on this Earth to build stuff. The only thing I love more than making cosplay is teaching other people how to make cosplay!
