Romance anime has been evolving... backwards..

2020s roaming the anime has been filled with what I like to call "girlfriend simulators" or just plain slice of life romance with little to no drama. The shows are fine, but they boil down to putting wish fulfillment first and a good & entertaining story second. So while I do enjoy all forms of romance that anime has offer, I think it's time for a change of pace.
