The Fast and Easy Glitched Ending in Shadowgate (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts - Video

In Shadowgate for the NES, there's a very cool trick you can exploit to get to a glitched out version of the game's ending and it only takes about ten minutes to get there. Technically, this allows you to beat the game way faster than normal.

First and foremost what you want to do is make it to the Courtyard. It's the area with a well and a Gargoyle creature who may or may not be naked. You want to reach this area with as few items as possible in your inventory.

For the record, I had Keys 1, 2, and 3 as well as the gem bag, a stone, the sling, shield, hammer, and two torches. I ONLY picked up the items necessary to make it to this area, and nothing else.

So knock the cyclops out with the sling/stone and then USE the crank on the well to raise the bucket. Now open the far door and proceed into a hallway. Here, take the first door on the left and this brings you into the Library.

Inside the Library, use ALL of your torches. You might have to waste some time in here in order to do that. Once you've used your torches, OPEN the DESK and TAKE the GLASSES. Then exit behind you.

Now that you're in the hallway, look in your own inventory and TAKE the GLASSES in your inventory. When you do this, you will see them duplicate. Now keep taking the GLASSES and fill up your inventory.

When you hear the music indicating your torch is about to run out, TAKE the torch from the wall and immediately USE it. Then proceed to TAKE the GLASSES in your inventory again to continue duplicating them.

You're almost there. When you see other items begin to appear in your inventory (like a Blue Gem) you know you're close. When the GLOBE appears in your inventory, keep taking the GLASSES until you've created one last additional inventory page with a single GLASSES on that page.

Now open the far door, and walk into the far room. Then USE the item slot below the last GLASSES you created. Depending on how your inventory was arranged, this should start a glitched out version of the ending sequence.
