They Live (1988) Reaction & Review! FIRST TIME WATCHING!! - Video

This was a real eye opener of a film. Literally. Carpenter did a wonderful job with the directing, writing and music while Roddy Piper and Keith David were great in their roles. The story was layered with commentary and even though the pacing was slow, it was deliberate and blended with the music really well. This was a precursor film to movies like the Matrix or Dark City where the protagonist “wakes” up and sees that their entire existence is a lie. I would recommend this film a hundred times over.
