Twitch has finally announced that they have created a separate category for all beach, pool, and hot tub streams in addition to over 350 new tags for streamers to properly identify their content and communities.
The change, for the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category, will mean that content creators who choose to wear swimwear allowed under the "Swim and Beaches" context of the "Nudity and Attire" policy, will be required to put their videos under this new category.
This change likely comes through because of advertisers being able to choose what categories to advertise on, and separating out hot tubs from "Just Chatting" would make it easier for said advertiser to be selective with their dollars.
Another announcement Twitch made was the addition of tags around identifiers such as gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ability, mental health and more to help content creators and viewers connect with others in their shared communities.
Does this mean the end of the hot tub meta? Are you interested in the new tags for communities? Let us know what you think of these changes in the comments!
