Join Lane Literary Guild and Eugene Public Library for a livestream of the Windfall Reading Series, a monthly gathering highlighting local and regional writers. This month, poet Connie Soper and novelist Henry Alley will read their works and take questions online.

Connie Soper’s poems have appeared in North Coast Squid, Ekphrastic Review, Catamaran, Cider Press Review, Clackamas Literary Review, Rain Magazine and elsewhere. Her first full-length collection of poems, "A Story Interrupted," is newly published by Airlie Press. She is also the author of a nonfiction book, "Exploring the Oregon Coast Trail." Continually inspired by the Oregon Coast, her poems also take us to Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Greece -- exploring the ways that many modes of travel, besides flight (mementos, photos, voices overheard), can carry us afar. Soper divides her time between Portland and Manzanita.

Henry Alley, University of Oregon Professor Emeritus of Literature, will read from his lyrical new novel, "Galen's Legacy," the odyssey of a gay man finding romantic love and reconcilement with family, in idyllic communities in Oregon and the Netherlands. Alley is author of over sixty stories, including his latest collection "The Dahlia Field." His novels include "Through Glass," "The Lattice," "Precincts of Light," and "Men Touching." Alley has also written scholarly articles on authors including Virginia Woolf, Oscar Wilde, and E.M. Forster, as well as a book on the fiction of George Eliot. He lives in Eugene.
