This weekend, someone hit the jackpot. But enough about my dating life! Seriously, though, that massive Mega Millions jackpot of 1.35 BILLION has been won, by a SINGLE ticket no less! It was sold at a gas station in Lebanon, Maine. That jackpot was the second-largest in Mega Millions history… and assuming the winner goes with the cash option, it’s worth roughly SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE MILLION dollars! It does seem like happy news… but as Stephen King would point out, when something incredibly unlikely happens in or around Maine on Friday the 13th, beware!

Meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook arguably LOST a lottery: Partially based on his own recommendation, Cook’s compensation for 2023 is targeted to be around HALF what it was last year! If all goes according to plan, Cook will receive three million dollars in salary, six million in “cash incentive”, and forty million in equity awards. Don't be cryin any tears for him though because that all adds up to about forty-nine million dollars. It's a far cry from the close to One HUNDRED million he made in 2022.

And Mexico is turning on the “No Smoking” sign in a major way! In some of the most restrictive smoking laws in the world, it's now illegal to light up in almost ALL public spaces. That includes parks, beaches, hotels, offices and restaurants.
They've also banned all advertising and promotion of tobacco products, meaning cigarettes can’t even be on display in stores. While many have applauded these moves, they've also questioned how truly enforceable they are within Mexican society.

A worthy question because I can see Mexican police asking for a few dollars, rather then giving out a ticket. JUSY SAYIN! Don't go away.
