Naked yoga has become the new fitness craze for 2024 with naked yoga classes found in 11 countries around the world and in 44 cities.

Over the last couple of years naked yoga has become very popular on YouTube and in this video I discuss the history and origins of naked yoga.

I also talk about why people do naked yoga and where naked yoga classes can be found around the world.

Lets talk about the origins of yoga first, it has been established that yoga started in India some 2800 years before the birth of Christ and the first recorded sighting of anyone doing naked yoga was again in India around 400 BC when Alexander the Great invaded India. It was noted by his philosophers that they witnessed Indian monks known as Yogini performing naked yoga as part of their meditation process.

Now if the first recorded sighting of naked yoga was 400 years BC in India and yoga itself originated from India could it not be that naked yoga started at the very beginning, so perhaps naked yoga has been practiced for nearly 5000 years.

Why do naked yoga - well I guess there are two main reasons the first being the nudist community, by taking part in a naked yoga class it gives them another opportunity to enjoy stripping off.

The second reason for doing naked yoga is for mental health reasons, its been established that those suffering from body dysmorphia, a condition where someone dislikes the way their body looks can overcome the illness by taking part in a naked yoga class.

I mentioned that naked yoga classes can be found in 11 countries around the world, to name but a few you can find naked yoga classes in the UK, in Hastings and in London, in France you can find a naked yoga class in Paris, Belgium your find a naked yoga class in Brussels, Germany in Berlin, Spain you can find a naked yoga class in Madrid and also Barcelona and Australia Sydney but the most popular country in the world for naked yoga classes in the USA.

In just a short internet search I managed to find over 40 naked yoga classes in the USA!
